Hey guys! So my very first blog post…. interesting. I guess I’ll do the typical thing of rambling on about me… so I’m Nicole Waibel – currently a Junior (kind of) at the University of Akron where I’m a member of the track and field team. I’m majoring in fashion merchandising while getting a minor in business and a certificate in culinary arts. Yeah, I’m kind of all over the place. So a little bit of background info – my freshman year I went to Youngstown State (track scholarship), ended up hating my coach and then ended up at Akron -where I wanted to go all along. Oh, and by the way I pole vault, and for those of you who are unsure – yes it’s the thing where you run with the stick and jump in the air.

Was I always into fashion? …. NO WAY. In high school I got most athletic so obviously I wasn’t dressing to nines or anything like that. Yes I’d have my good days but for the most part I just wore a t-shirt and jeans. My first major was dietetics, so when I switched halfway through my sophomore year my athletic adviser did a whole “WTF! WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!” I had always loved to shop but never really had any style. Well here’s how that all happened… I started working at Victoria’s Secret in June 2014 – didn’t even expect that to happen… quick story … so my friend was looking at places to apply at Summit Mall and she got an application to VS and grabbed me one as well; which I didn’t even want but I figured why not? Keeping a short story short… I got hired and she didn’t. Anyways, I applied and got hired at Charlotte Russe at the other mall near me, Chapel Hill (or we call Chapel Hood). That was when I was first introduced to fashion and style. I never really knew how to wear colors so I used to always wear black and white- HELLO everything matches, you can’t go wrong. My co-worker, who also worked at VS and got hired at CR with me, is majoring in fashion at Kent State and in the fall she had a fashion show that she needed help with. Obviously I volunteered because isn’t almost every girls dream to be in a fashion show? Keeping it short it was super fun, people created gorgeous and interesting garments and I fell in love.

So here I am now taking 5 years to graduate but that’s fine with me. I don’t really want to face “the real world” or leave my teammates.

Since I apparently now have style or a sense of fashion how would I describe it? Well, I’m kind of all over the place… boho, minimalist, chic, classic, sophisticated, glamorous, traditional, and at times a little flamboyant, rocker-ish, preppy and sexy. It really just depends on what kind of mood I’m in and how much time I have to get ready. Oh, and then of course I always love my sports wear days and just hanging out in a t-shirt and pair of shorts.

A little bit more about me… I love my dog she’s a Pomeranian named Dolce and I got her from Craigslist LOL. She actually has an Instagram (@dolcethedoggie). I also love Beyonce and am I’m obsessed with coffee… french vanilla creamer only though. I love my boyfriend Kevin and, of course, SHOPPING 🙂

What to expect: I’ll be posting articles, outfits (of other people’s and myself as well) and maybe a few other random things every once in a while. I’m hoping at least post one thing every week but you know sometimes life gets in the way. I like showing people where I get my inspiration from which is mainly Pinterest, Twitter and my co-workers. This is basically a fashion blog and … Life blog? (If that’s what you call them..)

side note: you’ll notice I have an athletic build, so certain clothes fit me a little funky and I have to occasionally purchase larger sizes.

To wrap things up, I’m super excited to finally be starting my fashion blog!! Ask questions, add comments, share posts, do whatever! I’m looking forward to this whole blogging experience, I felt like I rambled a lot but thanks for reading 😀
