I work with the international team at L Brands and a lot of our work focuses around China. For those who don’t know, this year the Chinese New Year lands on Friday, February 16 and at the office we were looking at this website called Chinese New Year 2018. Being born in 1995, I’ve always assumed that my Chinese zodiac was a pig, I mean that’s what Google would tell me but, there is a catch. Since my birthday is in January, and the Chinese year doesn’t follow the Gregorian calendar – what we are used to – we realized that I might have a different sign. A couples clicks here and there and next thing you know, I was technically born the year of the dog. Of course this has no real significance other than the fact that this year is THE YEAR OF THE DOG! The website I listed above has some really interesting information on how the Chinese view what it means when it’s your year and it actually does not mean you’ll get good luck. Speaking of holidays, Ash Wednesday is this week and the past couple of years I’ve tried to give up shopping but have never been successful. I’m thinking that to help me stick with it this year, I’m going to pick a category like accessories and try to not shop that. I thought about giving up coffee but NO ONE would want that.

But, for any new year, the motto is ‘new year new me’ and what better way to celebrate both than with new clothes. ❤

~ now if only we can get some warm weather so we can stop bundling up! 😉
